Rare pathogens causing community-acquired pneumonia (CAP) represent clinically relevant differential diagnoses—particularly in cases of atypical clinical courses, lack of response to treatment, or unusual imaging findings. Filamentous bacteria such as Actinomyces and Nocardia, in particular, can mimic malignancies and require careful diagnostic evaluation.
