Prurigo nodularis (PN) is a chronic inflammatory skin disease that manifests itself as extremely itchy hard nodules. Prof. Dr. med. Dr. rer nat. Enno Schmidt from the University Hospital Schleswig-Holstein (Campus Lübeck) presented two retrospective studies published last year in which large data sets of PN patients were analyzed. While Olbrich et al. aimed to find out more about possible associations between cardiovascular disease and PN in their study, Ständer et al. focused on healthcare research.
