Endoscopic balloon dilatation and stent implantation are common treatment methods for narrowing of the digestive tract. However, this conventional endoscopic therapy has limited efficacy in the treatment of refractory esophageal strictures and even atresia (EA), and a second operation with reanastomosis also has disadvantages. A technique has now been developed that uses magnetic attraction to recanalize and repair esophageal obstructions.
