Angiosarcomas are malignant vascular tumors that occur in different regions of the body and are also referred to as hemangiosarcoma, malignant hemangioendothelioma or lymphangiosarcoma, depending on their origin. Primary and secondary angiosarcomas account for around 2% of all soft tissue sarcomas. In suspected cases, local spread is diagnosed before a biopsy is performed – the method of choice is magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) with contrast medium.
