In the differential diagnosis of groin and hip pain, musculoskeletal changes should be considered as a cause of the symptoms. An imaging examination considerably facilitates the diagnostic assessment, whereby the choice of procedure is crucial. In the cases described in this article, the use of X-ray and MRI in different planes led to the respective diagnosis being confirmed.
