A key concern in the field of digital dermatology is to effectively translate scientific findings into practical digital applications. The rapid development of artificial intelligence (AI) techniques, in particular deep learning, has revolutionized medical imaging. In a recent study, a vision transformer (ViT) model showed great potential for image classification in the context of HS diagnostics. In another study, the focus was on improving self-management skills in HS. An app developed specifically for this purpose showed promising results in the pilot phase.
