Colorectal cancer is a relevant disease for society: every twentieth person in Switzerland is affected at least once in their lifetime. In Switzerland, around 4300 new cases occur every year and around 1700 people die from it. The mortality rate is around 40%, and 10% of all cancer deaths are caused by colorectal cancer.
