In vitiligo, hypopigmented or depigmented areas of skin occur as a result of an autoimmune disorder. The results of a large international survey confirm that vitiligo sufferers sometimes experience considerable distress. The therapeutic options have expanded in recent years. This applies in particular to the most common subtype, namely non-segmental vitiligo.
