Individuals at clinical high risk for psych osis (CHRp) have an estimated 27% chance of developing a psychotic disorder within three years, but there are currently no established preventive pharmacological strategies. Diazepam, a positive allosteric modulator of GABAA receptors, has been shown in experimental models to attenuate behavioral changes associated with psychosis.
