The incidence of gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) in pregnancy is increasing worldwide. In addition to the perinatal complications of GDM, there are also long-term health risks, as shown by the increased incidence of type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease. However, knowledge about the predictive factors for long-term metabolic health outcomes in women after GDM is still limited.
