Up to 50% of people with COPD continue to experience exacerbations despite receiving maximum inhaled therapy. The key factor here is persistent chronic inflammation, which cannot be fully controlled even with triple therapy. The treatment approach is therefore shifting away from the “one-size-fits-all” principle toward phenotype-driven precision medicine.
