SGLT2 inhibitors are associated with a significantly lower risk of dementia, including Alzheimer’s disease and vascular dementia, compared to DPP4 inhibitors. The observed benefit was consistent across different subgroups and was particularly evident for dapagliflozin and empagliflozin, while there was no clear effect for other agents.
