Allergic contact dermatitis is based on type IV/late type sensitization. The selection of test allergens should be guided by the patient’s medical history. Nickel is still the most common trigger of contact allergy, but the numbers are decreasing. On the other hand, sensitization to acrylate is tending to increase as a result of the use of corresponding industrial products.
