Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) is an integrative mind-body therapy that is increasingly being used to treat trauma- and stress-related disorders. It combines tapping on acupuncture points (known as “tapping”) with controlled exposure and targeted emotional processing. In EFT, the intervention—by integrating targeted mindfulness, self-compassion, and processing during the session—can reduce physiological and emotional dysregulation as well as avoidance behaviors.
